After many years in Corporate America, the AlignComm founders came to the realization that it is sometimes easier to effect positive change from the outside of an organization than it is from within. As the 'victims' of some chronically misaligned initiatives, and as witnesses to many more, it became clear that change agents were desperately needed.
It also became apparent that there are not enough consulting companies that specialize in strategic alignment adjustments. That both the art and the science of corporate alignment were underdeveloped. We formed Aligncomm to serve a rapidly emerging, worldwide need for relevant tools and analytical processes.
We bring a new level of rigor--and vigor--to advancing the art and science of alignment. We also add a component that reinforces alignment efforts: a comprehensive employee and partner communications framework. (Hence the name AlignComm.)
The founders of AlignComm have broad and deep experience in strategic planning, business development and corporate communications. We want to put it to work for you.

Debra’s degree in journalism led her to begin a career in newspapers and magazine, but she soon transitioned into marketing communications. It was at Burroughs Corporation in Detroit that she learned how to translate product benefits into compelling marketing messages that worked in multiple languages to support worldwide sales efforts.
With a desire to expand from business-to-business to consumer marketing, Debra's next step was into the world of advertising agencies. There she developed strategic communications plans for retail as well as corporate clients that included media advertising and collateral, and cross-promotional partnerships that added heft to skinny ad budgets. This was during the recession of the early 1980s, when it was imperative to not only generate interest within the target audience but also to generate enthusiasm among the employee population.
Burroughs then invited her to return as the head of worldwide advertising. A few years later, when Burroughs bought Sperry to create Unisys, she led integration of two large, disparate advertising teams to create the award-winning “Power of Two” campaign which was released simultaneously in over 20 countries. The successful result was credited to Debra's extraordinary people management and motivation skills.
After leaving Unisys, Debra held a number of marketing and communication roles in a variety of industries, from electronic voting machines and process control systems, to disaster preparedness software and custom home building. She is a copywriter, ghost-blogger, speechwriter and memoirist who created the Debra Samson Memoir Maker sold on QVC.
Debra brings to AlignComm that rare ability to “read a room” ... she synthesizes the key issues and clearly articulate the complexities being debated. She understands the power of the written word and has proven expertise in harnessing this power to support the achievement of organizational objectives. She wants to write for you.
